ORIGINS

A story of a passion that comes from afar...

The story begins in the late 19th century, when great-great-grandfather Ciriaco Guerrini, a resident of Florence, chose the Maremma region to purchase land with farmhouses near Campagnatico. The land was cultivated with cereals, olives, and partly used for livestock farming, managed by sharecroppers. Great-grandfather Aroldo expanded the land by planting olive trees and opening an olive mill in the village. In the years that followed, grandfather Alberto also contributed to the company's growth, even though global trade did not exist and marketing the product from a small town in the wild Maremma was a challenge. The company overcame difficult times, such as the great cold of 1985, when temperatures dropped to -23°C and 90% of the trees died. It was time to start over, and slowly, Giovanni, our father, decided that the hills would once again turn the color of silver olive trees, with 3,500 trees on 10 hectares of land that also includes two farmhouses for agritourism. The olive tree is a plant that endures through generations and transcends them in memory, but it requires love, attention, and time—at least 10 to 15 years before it begins producing and 20 to reach maturity. We've come this far: Giovanni, our father, and we, Francesco and Gianluca, passionately continue the project of presenting this magnificent and unique product of our land.
