After a difficult year for the olive harvest, the new evo olive oil has arrived!

    The summer drought added to the heat has put the olive harvest at risk, it is the worst season for ten years now and at the end of the harvest we have reached a 70% reduction compared to last year.

    Come accade ormai da diversi anni è stata la siccità prolungata a provocare il netto calo della raccolta delle olive, gia' a giugno le piante hanno iniziato a soffrire e a lasciar andare i piccoli frutti.
    As has been the case for several years now, it was the prolonged drought that caused the sharp decline in the olive harvest, already in June the plants began to suffer and let the small fruits go.
    «It's the worst year in the last 10 years - explains Gianluca - we had a drought that hasn't been recorded in the Municipality of Campagnatico since time immemorial, from February to September it never rained except on a couple of almost torrential occasions and again stifling heat until the end of November. The worst conditions for olive trees. To say a difficult year is perhaps even an understatement, I would say disastrous».
    «Fortunately the yield was not bad, the average was around 15%, and the quality of the oil obtained was also good. It wasn't a good year but we have to resist and keep working hard, ours is a quality oil and we can't afford to lose it.»
